Transferring Your Smashpot to Another Fork: Parts Required

If you're thinking of moving your Smashpot to a different fork, follow this checklist to ensure you have the correct fitting parts for your fork:

 

 

1. Is the Smashpot compatible with the new fork?

You can see the full compatibility on our product pages.  

  

2. Is the new fork a different brand to what the Smashpot was in previously?

YesNo

You will require a brand-specific Footstud.

No Footstud needed.

 

Example: 

If it's moving from a Fox 36 to Fox 38, no Footstud is needed.

If it's moving from a Fox 36 to a Rockshox Zeb, a new Footstud is needed.

 

3. Is the new fork a different model to what the Smashpot was in previously?

YesNo

You may need a new Topcap.

No Topcap required.

 

4. Do you wish to change the travel?

YesNo

Do you have the original parts?


Yes - You will require "Cartridge Tube Heat Shrink" 


No - You may require "Travel Adjust Kit" "Cartridge Tube Heat Shrink" 


Available here.

No further parts needed.


Example: 

If you are the original owner and would like to go from 160mm to 170mm, you will need to re-apply the "Cartridge Tube Heat Shrink".


If you are purchasing a used unit, and don't have the original spare parts, you may require additional parts from the "Travel Adjust Kit" + "Cartridge Tube Heat Shrink" to change travel.

 


5. Do you wish to change the spring rate?


YesNo

Do you have the original parts?


You will require a new Spring.


No further parts needed.
